Well. We wanted to find out. After all: we have always cared about having beautiful surroundings in our home. Therefore, we’ve decided to look deeper into the products that can be found online. We found out that a lot of the stacked books sold on Amazon were bad. And they were bad for numerous reasons:
- Bad quality
- Did not look like advertised
- The paper inside the books were of poor quality and could not be used properly
- And so on.
After a while, we understood that we had to make an article about this. In order for you to find the best stacked books for your living room; we bought LOADS of products on Amazon. And in this article, we’re showing you the best 7 products on the market.

There was no doubt in our mind. GoFika has made the absolute best product when it comes to stacked books for home décor.

Once you’ve bought these books from GoFika, you would not want to even try other competitor products. This is the best product out there.
Text “HOME SWEET HOME”
The text might sound a bit cliché to you. However, we found it very sweet. The font and size of the text is just big enough so that it can be read from anywhere in the living room.
Also, we found it very delicate to add a small plant on top of the books, which is what’s shown in the picture above.
Rope & paper of the highest quality
One of the big problems with many of the products on Amazon is that the quality of the product is not as seen on the Amazon pictures. With this product from GoFika, we would go as far to say that it’s the opposite. Both the rope and the pages were of HIGHER quality than expected. That is something that we very seldom experience when we do these product reviews.
If you are in doubt: go for this one. It’s beautiful. And the blank pages inside the books? Oh well – they are as soft as baby skin!

These stacked books from LIVDUCOT Farmhouse is a different type of model. It comes second in our big test.

If you want to have stacks of wood in your house; feel free to buy these “stacked books” from LIVDUCTOT. But let us be honest: they are not books. It is wood that looks like books. We just need to clarify this so you won’t get a surprise when you order them.

Apart from being made out of wood, there is one other factor that separates this product from its competitors.
You can choose between three different products from the same company. And what’s different about these products it’s what’s written on the side of the books:

These stacked books from Exood are more expensive than its competitors. On the flip side, we found it to have a superb quality.

This is a great product. The only thing we are a bit concerned about is the price. Would we really pay 36 USD for this one when GoFika can be bought for 20 USD? We’re not sure about that.

You can surprise your family members or friends with this nice gift. This books tack from Exood is a nice and tasteful decorative gift for anyone who needs to “spice up” their home a bit.
We also think that the bright color makes this product perfect to be used in any room in the house: living room, bedroom and even in the bathroom.

Despite having a premium price, these stacked books have received an awful lot of good customer reviews on Amazon. That is very often a very good sign. If you buy this product and seem to be happy with it – you’re definitely not alone! 🙂

4. Hosley Storage – With an interesting pattern
If you want to buy stacked books with a unique design, this product from Hosley Storage might be exactly what you’re looking for.
- No text on the side
- An interesting and unique design on all three books
- Three different sizes; three different patterns
- No rope included
- More than 1000 (positive) reviews on Amazon
If we understand this market correctly, this is the type of stacked book decoration that is “original” and “traditional”. In other words: this is where it all started. No text. No real paper inside. Just some empty books with a quite interesting pattern.
Fits both the office and your home
We really like these “books” from Hosley Storage. They are rectangular and got a quite bright grey color. However, we found them to be perfect as home office decoration. These patterns might be a bit “too much” to place in a living room, which is why we probably would advise you to put this product somewhere else in the house.
Great product & different sizes with different opportunities
We are very satisfied with all the books. And it’s also worth mentioning that you get all three of them when you order from Amazon. They come in different sizes (8”, 10” and 12”).

5. N/C Decorative Books – With a retro image on the side
Are you keen on some more lively images on the side of the stacked books? And are you looking for some books that can be stored vertically and not only horizontally?
Well. This might be the product for you.

We put this product on the list just because we wanted to add something different. This is not the typical “stacked interior books” that you might be looking for. However, it’s a very popular product from the American brand N/C.
Two products in one package
When you buy this one on Amazon, you will actually receive two different books (with the same image and outlook). We didn’t see that before we actually purchased it, which made us positively surprised.
We acknowledge that this might be a nice product for someone who wants books with images in their bookshelf. After all, most books do look very boring. Choose between two beautiful designs!

6. Kroucoco Farmhouse Décor Book Stack – If you want a darker color
Kroucoco has produced a dark grey bookstack with some pretty nice details.

- No blank pages to be found inside
- Comes with a nice rope
- Illustrates a total of 3 books on top of each other
Let’s be honest though: this product didn’t have the best quality. We will just have to be honets with you. The only reason it deserves a spot on the list is because it’s very different from the other stacked books that we are listing.
Fading colors from day 1
You can almost see that some of the color is fading away from the product picture. And we unfortunately encountered the same problem with the product that we received. To conclude: this is not something that we would put in our living room.
But we know that there are people out there that have a much darker living room. For those people, this product from Kroucoco MIGHT be a decent option.
We’re just trying to be honest here.
Three different colors: grey, white and black
All the different colors have different messages written on the side:

It’s worth to mention that we only bought the grey version. So we can’t really say if the other colors might be of better quality.

These stacked books are obviously inspired by something vintage. Super nice and clear font.

There’s not much to say about these books. They can fit in any room and in any location in your home.
To be honest, this is probably the model that looks the most like “normal” books. And therefore, we know that a lot of people would love to buy them.

Advantages with stacked books
Some of you might be wondering:
“Why would we have stacked books at home? Do they really provide anything positive to my home?”.
And I understand your skepticism. Let me try to summarize some of the advantages you’ll get with this type of interior:
- You’re following the trend. Stacking books by the window or in a shelf is super popular.
- You can both stack them horizontal and vertical.
- There are many different texts that can be displayed on the side of the books.
- Having books at home make you look smarter.
- These books can be placed in any of your rooms at home (but bedroom and living room is most common).
Functions and other things you need to consider
Size
How big are your shelves? Where are you going to place these stacked books?
We figured out two things about the size. First: size matters. You might have seen that one of the main purposes of these products is the text written on the side of the books? If you buy a very small product, there’s a big chance that people might not be able to read what it says.
Secondly, we also saw that smaller products tended to have worse quality. Many of them might have been damaged during transport, which was a problem for us. After all: you’re not going to read these books. They are simply there to look pretty.
Due to those two reasons alone, we strongly recommend you to go for the bigger versions.
Text on the side of the books
After all: these products can be used to communicate something. If you want to send a message to those who visit your house: stacked books is a great way to do that.
Many of them have generic stuff like “HOME” written all over them. But there are so many smart variants out there when it comes to what’s written on the side. These are just some of the ones we found while browsing through Amazon.com:
- “Grateful & thankful”
- “Take time to do what makes your soul happy”
- “Our happy place”
- “This is us ?”
- “You are my sunshine”
- “Faith, hope, trust”
- …and the most common one: “Home Sweet Home”
Paper or wood?
Some of the products on Amazon are called “Home Decor Stacked Books”….while in fact they’re not books at all. Many of them are simply pieces of wood that have been designed to look like books.
We didn’t like those. The problem is that at some point, the color will start to fade. That’s what happens with a lot of painted wood equipment. And at that point, they will stop looking like books and start looking like…pieces of wood. And that’s not something you would like to have standing in your fancy living room.
Instead: go for a product that is actually delivering blank page books that can be browsed through whenever you want. Also, having paper available for emergy situations might be a good thing..?
Quality of the rope
As you might have noticed, every stack of book have a rope tied around them. If you look on the various product pictures on Amazon, they seem to be of the same material:
Let me break this to you straight away: they’re not. These ropes are sometimes of a so bad quality that we were questioning whether or not they could even be allowed to be sold.
It’s important that you find a rope that that looks great. All of the stacked books that we recommend in this article have a proper quality to them.

Price
Do not pay too much. However, don’t fall into the trap of paying too little either.
Stacked books is one of the cheaper types of decoration that you can get for your living room. FOr only 20-40 $, you might find something that really makes a difference in your living room.
However, we tried to find similar products on Etsy. They have products that can range down to 10-15 $. Believe us: don’t be tempted to buy the absolute cheapest options when you buy decoration. There is a reason why people have stopped buying art on IKEA.

Buying stacked books for your home is a great way of making your home more modern. This trend has come to stay – believe us.
And we are very happy to say that we have found the best 7 products on the market. At least we FEEL like we have done that.
It is worth mentioning that we solely used Amazon for this big product review. As we bought all the books at once, we figured out that this was the best platform to buy them from. Please also note that we bought more than 10 stacked books. However, the other products were of so poor quality that we did not list them in this article. We only want to discuss products that we can really recommend.

FAQ
We would strongly recommend the living room or the hallway. But there is nothing wrong with putting stacked books into your bedroom or bathroom.
PS! If you are planning to have books in your bathroom; make sure it’s not too humid.
We only used Amazon.com when we tested these products. Most of the stacked books could be found in the price range of 15-35 $.
Our test showed a clear correlation between price and size. The smaller books can be bought for about 15 USD, but they are waaaay too small to be noticed in a normal living room. We will recommend staying away from the cheapest options.
If your shelf or wall color is dark: go for black stacked books. If you have a lighter color on your other interior: go for white books. That’s our recommendation. We tried to put some black stacked books in front of a white and yellow wall. That didn’t work out very well. The contrast was too big.
